Great game! It's not the typical "how far can you launch" game, since it's actually got a real end and it was pretty entertaining to get there too. As usual it takes a little time to build things up but then you're rolling in the money and powerups start flooding in. This was a good way to waste an hour. Very charming graphics too, and it was always entertaining to hit a pirate in the head (was surprised when I hit an engine and it blew up!). Great work, will play again.

Awesome, Yeah that was a little touch I wanted to add in. (engine blowing up) Its a good way to take down 2 pirates on one boat as well. Thanks for the review and im happy you enjoyed it.

This game has a lot of potential, but it's really a let down when you're actually penalized for progressing through the game--halfway thru the map and you stumble on a new class (which you have no idea what it will be) and then bam, you're stripped from double jumping, dashing, and adequately defending against unbeatable enemies, and you're likely about to run out of stamina too, forcing a restart. Some of the class abilities are questionable too, the archer's normal attack costs coins to fire an arrow? Then an "upgrade" is a knife attack that doesn't do anything to "!!" enemies, it's a waste. I stopped playing after that class because I didn't have the patience to get to a newer class later in the map, the game's pacing is too slow. Instead of a double-tap to dash, the walking speed would be better off permanently increased. It's a decent concept with really attractive graphics but until these flaws are fixed, I feel discouraged from playing further :(

Solid game

Definitely a solid game, not terribly difficult but not too easy either. The only drawback is those damned gravity wells--using them is entirely guess work because they don't always correctly send you in the direction they're facing. Still the graphics are simple, music is appropriately retro, and the gameplay is pretty good. A fun game!

Also this is more humorous than anything, but the first thing that threw me off was the plot. Granted, the plot is never the strong point of platform-puzzlers... But the God says he will make duck rich after collecting 40 golden eggs... but if duck has 40 golden eggs, wouldn't he already be rich!?

Entertaining.

I'm curious how your flash legitimately calculates someone's IQ, because it seems to overestimate them... a lot of the questions were pretty easy. I think part of this is because the problems were all relatively the same. Maybe add some visual image tests too, diversify the problems. Perhaps add a timer to each question as well?

Also I am sorry, but as petty as this may seem, it's kind of hard to take an IQ test seriously when the flash is improperly titled (periods before the abbreviation: .I.Q?) and there was an incorrectly spelled word ("definately" should be spelled "definitely.")

Regardless this is still an entertaining flash and I commend you for the job well done.

DemiseAnimation responds:

I.Q as well as IQ test were both taken as names.
Ill get to that spelling mistake, thanks!

great

Excellent game, given the "simple" concept. What I find most interesting is that it highlights a concept thats becoming more prevalent in console games, like Zelda's action button or Assassin's Creed's action buttons. I really feel like I'm playing a game with a control scheme that could easily be on the Wii some day. But enough comparisons. On it's own, the music is great and I just really like the concepts and ways you used only one button for so much variety. I like the graphics too.

good fun

Fun game and really humorous too, but I was disappointed that there was no particular ending, and even more so that I couldn't keep all my upgrades and stuff once I returned to the game :(

One big issue though. Everyone keeps saying they got an ending when they died but I didn't even get that--I had upgraded everything and just let my fort get bombarded, and when the final explosion came up everything just froze. I could switch channels but when I returned to channel 3 it was still frozen. Either way, really really entertaining game! I only meant to play it for a few minutes but I kept wanting the upgrades. Good times.

9/10

Very nice game! I like the concept and hte levels are well constructed, I made it to level 32 before wrapping things up. Definitely better than I thought it would be. The levels really weren't terribly challenging, but I think I attribute that to all the time I ran around in different paths in Pokemon when grinding and catching monsters :) Great work and nice graphics too.

nice game

Funny thing, I used to hate these in the paper. But the cursor being seen in both sides is a good help... Although I don't know if this applies to the artwork or the things you chose to mask, but there could be more variety in the images. Generally every scene with the main pirate had his belt buckle, buttons, pipe or face changed. Perhaps there should be a better variety of storytelling from scene to scene. Still not a bad game and the artwork was nice. It does what it does well.

great

I have a very strong urge to play Road Rash now just because that's the last game I played that used this kinda engine. You've done an excellent job of recreating such a classic racing system, it looks good and even feels kinda rigid just like the old ones too. Props on that! The fact is though that it is repetitive, kinda dull and simplistic (if any) race AI. One could say that it is faithful to the retro games of old but I do think you could put your own spin on it to offer more variety. Sadly I don't have any ideas off the top of my head that would improve it.

wow wtf

I was doing okay up until level 12 and that douchebag torpedo comes outta nowhere. It's so large and obnoxious it's hard to avoid while getting the bubbles. Anyway this game isn't bad. However, your "upgrade" from the hammer to the first chainsaw really cripples you, it totally eliminates the range of movement you previously had. Thankfully the weapons do actually get better afterwards. Not a bad game but it does get boring kinda fast and repetitive.

olav-st responds:

Thanks for the review, I replaced the red chainsaw with a better normal saw.
