Finally!

I was wondering when someone would finally pay tribute to Time Fcuk for the calendar! I was almost gonna do one myself just to get it out there, but you saved me the trouble lol. Great tribute, really good shading and perfect capture of character.

Araelyn responds:

Aww thank you so much! Yeah, I've been wanting to do one for a while and this calendar was perfect motivation to do one.

Superb

This is superb work, very well done and I love the ambiance of it. Nice attention to details and lighting and I really like the pastel colors in it. Seems like the forest is on fire.

turma13 responds:

Thanks for the feedback. I'm glad to know the lighting in the forest worked--it was very difficult to pull off with pastel ;)

I like

Now this one I really like. At first I thought there was too much noise in the image, but I think the real issue is that the noise is too grainy. Maybe soften the noise a bit. With that said, I like the open feeling of the image.

BenTibbetts responds:

Thanks. Fair criticism; I think a higher quality render might fix that so I'll give it a try.

Nice of you to share

Nice of you to share it! So you're updating the original one you posted on the 2nd? Would you mind explaining your light set up? It looks like there's three light sources, but is there also some ambient occlusion going on? I love how the hair looks so good in the render shot. It's cool to see a high res version of this guy.

Osuka responds:

crap, im trying to update the information but the page dont let me :s

Information:
-6 Lights used (3 Directional - 3 Omnis)
-Used Irradiance Illumination
-Used VRAY DIRT to make the oclussion effect on the face
-The hair was made with 42 PLANES with HAIR MAPS
-The ZDEPTH layer is used to blur only the part behind

Epic

What a fantastic image! The lighting is excellent and I like the overall composition too. My favorite aspect of this is the shading, however. I hope you make it onto the calendar!

Jobertson responds:

yeah, i think the shading probably is the strong point :D
thanks for commenting

Very nice

This does a great job of capturing the feel of the game, but my favorite part is the fantastic perspective--it's just really really well done. I also like the shading on his skin.

TheMastermario22 responds:

hey thanks a lot! thaaaat was a constructive review. thanks! :)

Wow

This is definitely an underrated piece. The image is very strong and the lighting is dynamic, and the meaning itself is very powerful and true. Did you trace over an image of yourself? Because that is some very clean linework especially around the hands and nails. I do agree with you--I think it's better unfinished.

RexMundi responds:

Yea, the assignment was to take a picture of ourselves. I jus' blew it up on a projector and lightly traced the image. I do kinda wanna finish that hand, though. Idk...I'm very undecided about this one. Thanks for the score. I don't think I deserve it ^_^

Excellent

This image has excellent composition and emotion in it, his posture is great and really helps in the feeling that he is shouting. There's not a lot of detail per se but this doesn't hurt the image, although I think it'd be nice if the breastplate anatomy were more cleanly drawn. Also I think his arm could use more shading around the deltoid to bicep transition.

MusicalMahem responds:

I didn't even see that part (the arm). Thank you for telling me. Now everyone's going to notice lol. It was quickly done... I tend to get bored of a project if i work on it too long, though that's not the case all the time. Again, Thank You!
