I definitely like the style you drew this in! But all the turtles had different shades of green, why is Raph the only one that has more saturated skin? Leo needs more emphasis but that's not serious critique, I just like him more ;) Great shading and lines.
A solid image
I really really like the design of the model, and I love seeing composite images of the drawn concept, to the plain model, to the render and pose... and the design of the robot is creative for sure. I like all the details that you put into it and it really has your signature style.
However, a lot of those details get lost in the highly reflective material on the armor. It reminds me of when Bryce was getting popular and people would just make reflective objects for the sake of it, it's very flat and noisy. If you could composite an AO layer over it so the shading of the model isn't completely lost in the reflection, it would really help to accentuate the details on it... But then again this *was* done a year ago, and this was for an animation so perhaps it looks better in motion. I just think with better materials (no offense to Osuka), it could really be a 10.
well its supposed to be brass, and i think thoseyellow parts came out fine, but I agree the joints and int gears couldve been better with a more prime base coloring.
thanks for the review.
Very nice character design, it really jumps out and looks just like the drawn character... I'm not fond of that kind of style myself, the eschewed proportions and "pumpkin heads" but that doesn't mean it's a bad style by any means. Reminiscent of Psychonauts. Good work.
I love the perspective in this image. Very nice details and colors.
I appretiate that :)
I love the style and the amount of details in this. Nice touch with the transparent shirt, shame you had to conceal the girl's anatomy ;) What were your friend's reaction? I'd be pretty flattered by such a piece if I were them! Very creative work.
Thank you. They love it.
Very nice ambiance
Haha that is a cool piece of work... only things I dislike about it is the lighting, it's a little too dark and could be presented a little better, and that you could add a lil more of a stencil effect to the carving, have a part of the top of the pumpkin linking to the tankman's head and the tank's cannon--otherwise I'd think a carving like that would just fold over without those supports. Other than that, I think that stem is a little too tall. But it's still not a bad piece by any means!
I agree with all your comments. In fact, there's actually one piece of the pumpkin that isn't attached to anything, and would simply fall out in real life. I tried "moody" lighting and ended up with just plain "dark."
I like this and your Eva Berzeker yell piece a lot, really well done. I think the image looks a little too busy though, mainly because of the cel-shading... yet the shading also lends to the appeal. Either way I look forward to the movie! You really captured Eva very well. There's a surprising lack of 3D Evangelion artwork and yours is one of the better pieces!
This does point out some interesting events in the game... the jokes aren't particularly great but I did laugh at the last panel with red XIII. The proportions and shading could use some work but hey, this was two years ago!
I absolutely love the lighting in this image, it's very powerful and stands out. The black "light" rays are a very nice touch. The beauty of this piece is the deceiving simplicity of it. Although the only thing I could really critique is the texture on her dress, it's very flat and doesn't conform to her figure. But I do like that you went so far as to disrupt the texture when it came to the folds on her dress.
